Licensed School Nurse (2026-2027 School Year)
- Complete required medical histories for referred and identified students.
- Complete and file required documents.
- Administer medications as necessary.
- Maintain medical records for all students including required records of immunizations and physical examinations.
- Communicate with students and parents regarding illnesses or accidents at school.
- Meet regularly with Teachers, Teacher Assistants and other specialists to discuss individual student's modifications or adaptations, ongoing learning issues, interventions or problems. Work collaboratively to ensure individual student's needs are met.
- Serve as consultant to building staff regarding medical or health related information.
- Plan and instruct students on District and state approved health curriculum.
- Establish a safe atmosphere conducive to a positive learning environment. Act as role model on appropriate behaviors ensuring social and emotional development is progressing normally.
- Enforce and support school policies, philosophies and objectives with students and parents.
- Participate in staff development and school improvement activities in order to maintain professional growth. Plan and incorporate best practices or new strategies.
- Participate in events outside of the regularly scheduled work day such as orientation, open houses or conferences.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary:
Qualifications: The qualified candidate will have a valid Illinois Professional Educator License. Candidates holding an administrative endorsement or working on the Principal endorsement are preferred.
Rate of Pay and Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience and will be determined by the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, which is currently under negotiation (effective July 1, 2026). To establish a baseline, the current IPEA Salary and Stipend Schedule 2025-2026.pdf and benefits as outlined in current contract IPEA Agreement 2022-2026.pdf are available for review.
Working Conditions: High school.
