Travel Requirements

This role requires travel to support organizational needs, including but not limited to meetings, trainings, events, and client services. Travel frequency and destinations will vary based on business requirements.

Position Description:

Mental Health Clinician (MHC) position provides assessment, therapeutic counseling and psychotherapy, individual service/treatment development, case management, transition/discharge planning, and other mental and behavioral health services to clients with mental health illness within your scope of practice. Assesses clients and determines and/or confirms diagnosis. Develop, implement and coordinate treatment plans for psycho-social needs of each client on your caseload to include supportive counseling to client and case management and supportive treatment to the client and for family members as medically necessary. Collaborate with the Supervising Clinician, Director and staff as it relates to client services.

This position will receive 1:1 and/or group supervision from supervisors through direct observation, clinical meetings, and/or videos. Supervision may be provided by different supervisors based on the service provided or work being completed. Supervision is provided regularly and is documented. In addition, Mental Health Clinicians are required to attend team meetings, staff professional development sessions per their specific staff development plan, scheduled training, and continuing education as required by the licensing board.

Finally, this position requires the staff member to maintain all current licenses as required by the Ohio licensing board(s).

Minimum Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Knowledge and ability to competently perform in lower status positions within the department/organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; communicate effectively including in a timely manner following company requirements (within 24 hours); model of quality documentation; proactive communication with leadership
  • Excellent teamwork and leadership skills; model of professionalism and implementation of all policies, procedures, laws, and regulations including meeting ongoing background check requirements
  • Knowledge and competent use of computer, internet navigation, email management, electronic health record systems
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to situational events
  • Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills
  • Reliable, punctual, excellent attendance (e.g., has reliable transportation to and from work)
  • Respond positively to and immediately implement feedback accordingly
  • Ability to positively interact with clients, families, and other stakeholders
  • Knowledge of current and evidence-based practices for behavioral health treatment

Credentials Required: Ohio Licensed LSW or LPC

Credentials Preferred: Ohio Independent License (LISW, LISW-S, LPCC, LPCC-S)

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience in Social Work or related human services. Preferably master’s degree in social work, psychology, or in related human services with at least 1 year of experience.

Physical Activity

  • Will spend substantial time standing, sitting, walking stairs, bending, working on the floor with clients, running, reading, typing, speaking and listening, and other physical activities
  • Ability to sustain energy and focus throughout shifts, which may vary in length or intensity
  • Flexibility to adapt physical effort based on client needs, including assisting in crisis or emergency situations
  • Ability to perform quick physical responses and work with aggressive behavior, if needed (e.g., assisting a client in distress, block hitting/biting/kicking, preventing accidents)
  • Comfort with occasional exposure to cleaning agents, allergens, or other mild environmental hazards
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Tolerance for working both indoors and outdoors if applicable
  • Ability to travel via personal vehicle to other facilities and homes
  • Remain, “Fit For Duty” at all times, including but not limited to performing job responsibilities in a safe, secure, and effective manner and remaining able to do so throughout the entire time they are working is essential

This position will require operation of all of the following equipment:

  • Telephone, phone, fax
  • Computer, printer, copy machine, and related equipment
  • Google platform or similar, EHR system, electronic payroll and time-clock system

**A service based structure requires consistent attendance. If the employee has excessive absences, they will be placed on an improvement plan, disciplinary action, and/or be terminated. Note: this position does have the option for a work from home as this is not a direct service position for our clients, but must be available to to be in-person at any time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
