Licensed Supervising Pharmacist Wanted

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Licensed Supervising Pharmacist to lead our pharmacy team and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. Duties

  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, ensuring adherence to all legal and safety standards
  • Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and preparing IV infusions using aseptic techniques
  • Manage inventory levels to maintain optimal stock of pharmaceuticals, including LTC (Long-Term Care) medications and critical care supplies
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to support patient care through medication therapy management, patient assessments, and medical management strategies
  • Conduct patient service activities such as immunizations, medication administration guidance, and patient education on treatment plans
  • Utilize pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for efficient workflow management
  • Maintain knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology to support clinical decision-making
  • Lead efforts in quality assurance related to aseptic technique, medication safety protocols, and infection control practices

Requirements

  • Valid state licensure as a Pharmacist with Supervisory authority required
  • Proven experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings with a focus on acute care or critical care environments
  • Strong background in clinical pharmacy practice including pain management, pediatrics, and immunizations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration procedures
  • Experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools
  • Skilled in compounding medications and IV insertion techniques within sterile environments
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
  • Excellent communication skills for patient service and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Prior pharmacy residency or extensive clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Additional certifications such as immunizations or advanced practice credentials are advantageous
