Licensed Therapist (LCAS Required)
Catalyst Counseling & Consulting
Based in Wilmington, NC
About the Role:
Catalyst Counseling & Consulting is a recovery-focused therapy practice seeking a dually licensed therapist with an active LCAS who is passionate about helping clients build meaningful, sustainable lives in recovery.
This is not a surface-level therapy role.
We're looking for a clinician who is comfortable going deeper—someone who can connect substance use to underlying patterns, challenge clients when needed, and guide clients toward real behavioral and identity-level change.
Our Approach:
We take a recovery-first, depth-oriented approach to therapy.
That means:
- We don't bypass substance use to focus only on underlying issues
- We believe insight alone isn't enough and therapy should lead to meaningful change
- We value both compassion and accountability in the therapy room
- We help clients understand the relationship between behavior, identity, attachment, trauma, shame, and recovery
We're building a team of clinicians who are authentic, engaged, and not afraid to do meaningful work with clients who are serious about recovery.
Who We're Looking For (Required):
- Active North Carolina license as an:
- LCSW
- LCMHC

- Trauma, attachment, shame, and identity
- Behavioral patterns and relapse cycles
- Ability to challenge clients while maintaining strong therapeutic rapport
- Values growth, consultation, feedback, and ongoing professional development
- Authentic, self-aware, and grounded clinical presence
Highly Valued (Not Required):

- Relapse Prevention Training or additional substance use certifications
- Experience serving specialized populations such as:
- Trauma and substance use

- Somatic or nervous-system-based approaches
- Veterans, military families, and Tricare populations
Role Expectations:
- Maintain approximately 22 available client sessions per week

- Complete documentation in a timely and insurance-compliant manner
- Participate in consultation and remain open to feedback and growth
- Build and maintain your caseload with support from the practice
