Job Summary

In this role you will deliver compassionate, professional, and ethical supplemental services to program clients. With a basic concern for quality of care and a belief in human potential for growth, the LVN collaborates and coordinates effectively with others. The primary goal is to contribute to the provision of quality nursing care and achieve positive client outcomes through skilled techniques and expertise in client care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Physician with physical admission assessments and medical and physical evaluations of Aliviane Inc. clients.
  • Apply considerable knowledge of client care, treatment, and special procedures related to practical nursing.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of medications, including reactions and dosage requirements.
  • Communicate with all staff and clients with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Administer client medications and evaluate pharmacotherapy effectiveness during Residential Treatment stay or at the Opioid Treatment Clinic.
  • Maintain compliance with State and Federal policies in the medication room, conducting inventories and disposing of medications as needed and as per state and federal guidelines.
  • Maintain program specific databases containing client medication data.
  • Provide initial and annual Intradermal tuberculosis (TB) tests on clients at the Opioid Treatment Clinic and annual TB tests of all Opioid Treatment Clinic staff. The Residential Nurse will provide TB tests to all required residential staff.
  • Report all reportable communicable diseases to the El Paso County Health Department following state and federal guidelines.
  • Manage and maintain knowledge of all medical equipment used in client care.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Graduate from a regionally accredited nursing school with LVN licensure in the State of Texas.
  • One year experience collaborating with individuals who are diagnosed with opioid use disorder (OUD) and substance use disorder (SUD).
  • Pursue continuous education and in-service training to expand knowledge of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
  • Any combination of education and experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description.
