<Responsibilities>
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform care plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following established protocols, including IV infusions and medication management.
- Manage complex cases such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and patients with developmental disabilities or infectious diseases.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document medical records meticulously and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Conduct specialized procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding, phlebotomy, suturing, and sterile processing with precision and aseptic technique.
- Assist in emergency situations by managing airway interventions, ventilator support, and acute pain management in high-pressure environments like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for discharge planning, case management, and patient education to promote long-term health and wellness.
<Skills>
- Proven experience working with diverse patient populations in settings such as hospital medicine, emergency rooms, ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or neonatal ventilator units.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Skilled in performing triage assessments and utilizing EMR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Home & Community Care platforms efficiently.
- Expertise in infection control practices, sterile technique, specimen collection/processing, and advanced procedures like spinal taps or gastric lavage.
- Familiarity with specialized areas including hospice care, palliative care (pain management), occupational health, dialysis support, and post-acute care environments.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on working with children (including Toddler Care), seniors (geriatrics), individuals with disabilities or dementia-related conditions.
- Ability to handle high-stress situations involving acute trauma or emergency medicine while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
