Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine care needs.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and medication administration.
- Manage complex wound care, catheterization procedures, and sterile techniques to promote healing and prevent infection.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation of patient care activities and medical records.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations like laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and medical imaging coordination.
- Provide specialized care for patients with chronic conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or developmental disabilities in memory or behavioral health settings.
- Support emergency response efforts by managing airway management, ventilator use, and acute pain management in high-pressure environments like Level I trauma centers or ICU settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and patient education to ensure seamless continuity of care.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU, emergency room, or Level I trauma centers is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and infection control protocols.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Ability to perform advanced nursing procedures such as tube feeding management, spinal taps, dialysis support, or dermal fillers is a plus.
- Excellent assessment skills combined with compassionate patient care and effective communication abilities.
