Licensed Vocational Nurse

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care across a variety of settings, including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Duties

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to determine individual needs.
  • Administer medications and injections accurately following physician orders while monitoring for adverse reactions.
  • Assist with complex procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, wound suturing, and sterile dressing changes using aseptic techniques.
  • Manage patient documentation meticulously within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide specialized care for patients with chronic conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities in memory or behavioral health settings.
  • Support emergency interventions including airway management, ventilator use, and acute pain management in urgent or hospital environments.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote optimal health outcomes.

Skills

  • Proven experience working with diverse patient populations across settings such as medical-surgical units, ICU, emergency rooms, or long-term care facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and diagnostic evaluation processes.
  • Skilled in performing venipuncture, phlebotomy, tube feeding management, and medication administration with precision and safety.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, and Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation.
  • Expertise in infection control practices and sterile processing techniques to ensure patient safety.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations involving acute care scenarios like trauma or ICU cases while maintaining professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education on health coaching topics such as nutrition or pain management, and discharge planning.
