Job Overview
Join our dynamic emergency response team as a Lieutenant Firefighter / EMT or Paramedic, where you will play a vital role in safeguarding our community through proactive fire suppression, emergency medical services, and leadership. In this energetic and fast-paced position, you will lead firefighting crews, deliver critical medical care, and coordinate emergency operations with precision and confidence. Responsibilities
- Lead firefighting teams during emergency responses, ensuring swift and effective suppression of fires and hazardous situations
- Provide advanced emergency medical care as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or Paramedic, including assessment, treatment, and stabilization of patients. EMT is accepted but Paramedic is prefered.
- Operate fire apparatus and emergency vehicles safely under various conditions, adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct thorough scene assessments, including vital signs monitoring and mechanical evaluations of equipment
- Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks such as carrying equipment, extricating victims, or managing fire hoses in challenging environments
- Maintain clear communication with dispatch centers, team members, and other first responders during emergencies
- Complete detailed incident reports and documentation to ensure accurate records of all operations and interventions
Skills
- Proven EMT experience with current certification in basic life support (BLS) and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
- Strong knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency medical protocols
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in operating emergency response vehicles safely
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic fire equipment and medical devices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks consistently during emergencies
- Skilled in taking vital signs such as pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation levels
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to coordinate teams effectively under pressure

- Leadership: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Colorado EMT, and BLS certifications? (Required)
- Colorado or IFSAC / Pro Board Fire Officer I certification? (Required)
- Colorado Hazmat Operations certification? (Required)
- Colorado Paramedic, ACLS, and Pals certifications? (Preferred)
- NWCG Engine Boss? (Preferred)
- Hazmat Endorsement (Preferred)
