Position:
The Respiratory Therapist in Lifestyle Enhancement provides patient-centered care to individuals with chronic lung disease (such as COPD, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, and post-COVID conditions). This role involves performing assessments, developing individualized exercise and education plans, and providing ongoing support to help patients improve their functional capacity and quality of life.
Qualifications:

Registered Respiratory Therapist with current license in the State of Ohio

Current ACLS and BLS certification

At least 5 years training and experience in working with patients with cardiopulmonary diseases and services delivered in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation

Experience in Pulmonary Function testing required.

Will complete the AACVPR Core Competencies within one year of hire

Will become member of AACVPR within one year of hire

Cardiac Care and/or Critical Care experience preferred and competent in telemetry monitoring and identification of cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias

Will attend LaCrosse Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Comprehensive Training courses

Experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, outpatient respiratory therapy, or cardiopulmonary care preferred.

Excellent communication, teaching, and motivational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including medical history, pulmonary function, and exercise capacity.

Develop and implement individualized pulmonary rehab treatment plans.

Provide patient education on breathing techniques, energy conservation, medication use, and lifestyle modification.

Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.

Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members.

Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with department and hospital standards.

Ensure a safe, supportive, and motivating environment for all patients.
