About the Role

Octagon International Qatar is seeking an experienced Lifting Engineer with Oil & Gas project expertise. The role involves planning, supervising, and ensuring safe execution of all lifting operations, in compliance with international standards and project-specific requirements. The candidate will work closely with construction and HSE teams to guarantee operational safety and efficiency in a complex industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review lifting plans, risk assessments, and method statements for all lifting activities.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., LOLER, ASME, API) and company lifting procedures.
• Conduct site surveys to assess lifting requirements and identify potential hazards.
• Select appropriate lifting equipment and verify certifications and load charts.
• Supervise lifting operations to ensure adherence to safety protocols and approved plans.
• Coordinate with construction, HSE, and project management teams for safe execution of lifts.
• Investigate and report any lifting-related incidents or near misses.
• Provide technical guidance and training to rigging and lifting personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of lifting equipment inspections and operations.
• Support audits and inspections related to lifting activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Lifting Engineer in Oil & Gas projects.
• In-depth knowledge of lifting equipment, cranes, rigging gear, and relevant standards (LOLER, ASME B30, API RP 2D).
• Familiarity with heavy lifts, tandem lifts, and critical lifting operations.
• Proficient in preparing lifting plans using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Strong understanding of HSE requirements and risk management in lifting operations.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Mandatory Requirements

• Oil & Gas project experience is mandatory.
• Currently based in Qatar.
• Valid NOC and transferable visa.
• Ready to join immediately.
