Lifting Equipment Inspection Engineer

Job Summary:
Arabian Bureau of Services is seeking a Lifting Equipment Inspection Engineer to conduct inspections, testing, and certification of lifting equipment for onshore and offshore operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with international standards, ADNOC requirements, and UAE regulations while maintaining accurate inspection records and reports. The position reports to the Inspection Manager or Technical Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and load testing of lifting equipment including mobile cranes, pedestal cranes, overhead cranes, forklifts, hoists, and winches
  • Inspect lifting accessories such as wire rope slings, chain slings, web slings, shackles, hooks, and spreader beams
  • Perform inspections in compliance with international standards (BS, BS EN, ISO, API, ASME) and ADNOC requirements
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, test certificates, and compliance documentation
  • Identify defects, hazards, and non-compliance issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions
  • Coordinate inspection activities with clients, contractors, and internal teams
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and equipment history files
  • Ensure all inspection activities comply with ISO/IEC 17020 requirements and company quality procedures
  • Attend site inspections and audits as required
  • Liaise with clients and regulatory authorities on inspection matters
  • Support continuous improvement of inspection processes and procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of current regulations, standards, and industry best practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in lifting equipment inspection, testing, and certification
  • Experience working with ADNOC-approved third-party inspection companies is required
  • Minimum 3 LEEA diplomas (Lifting Gear General, Lifting Machine Manual, Lifting Machine Power, or equivalent)
  • Thorough knowledge of international standards including BS, BS EN, ISO, API, ASME, and UAE regulations
  • ADNOC Offshore approval for lifting equipment inspection is preferred
  • NDT ASNT Level II (MPI and DPI) certification is preferred
  • UAE Driving License is required
  • Medically fit to work in onshore and offshore environments
  • BOSIET and H2S training certificates are preferred
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills
  • Good communication and coordination abilities

Work Location:
Dubai, United Arab Emirates (with travel to onshore and offshore sites as required)
