Job description
We are seeking an experienced Third Party Inspections Engineer to carry out field inspections, load tests, NDT and technical assessments of lifting equipment, lifting accessories and other mechanical assets for projects in the UAE. The role includes preparing inspection reports, liaising with clients/contractors, ensuring compliance with ENAS/EIAC accreditation requirements and local Abu Dhabi / Dubai technical guidance for lifting equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform on-site inspections, visual checks, functional tests and load testing of cranes, hoists, slings, shackles, lifting beams, and other lifting accessories.
- Execute and/or supervise NDT (as required) and interpret results; raise non-conformance reports where applicable.
- Produce clear, accredited inspection reports and certificates in line with ENAS/EIAC requirements and client specifications.
- Ensure inspection records, calibration records and traceability meet accreditation and client audit requirements.
- Coordinate with project teams, clients, and local authorities as required.
- Assist with scope assessments, method statements, risk assessments and inspection planning.
- Support witness tests, load tests and verification activities; advise on remedial work for failed items.
Requirements (minimum)
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2–4 years’ relevant field experience in third-party inspections (lifting equipment emphasis preferred).
- Proven hands-on experience inspecting lifting equipment and accessories (cranes, hoists, slings, shackles, spreaders, etc.).
- Familiarity with inspection standards and international codes (ISO/IEC 17020 context for inspection bodies, applicable national codes).
- Certifications preferred: NDT (ASNT/PCN/CSWIP or equivalent), Crane/Lifting inspector certificates, or other industry certifications.
- Strong report writing skills and competency with inspection software / MS Office.
- Willingness to travel between sites in Dubai & Abu Dhabi.
- Availability to start immediately / short notice is advantageous.
Desirable
- Prior ENAS/EIAC accreditation
- Knowledge of Abu Dhabi QCC and Dubai lifting equipment technical guidelines.
