Light Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Light Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems in commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of HVAC/R equipment, delivering reliable comfort solutions to our clients. Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and installations on commercial HVAC/R equipment including air conditioning units, boilers, chillers, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design documents to accurately identify system components and troubleshoot problems.
  • Conduct field service visits to client sites for emergency repairs or scheduled maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Repair and replace mechanical components such as motors, compressors, valves, pumps, and weld or fabricate parts as needed.
  • Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to assess electrical systems’ health and ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain detailed service reports, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and system conditions for accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or related fields such as construction or property maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair including refrigeration systems, boilers, appliances, and HVAC units.
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans effectively.
  • Experience with plumbing systems and ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with field service procedures and property maintenance practices.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating a <PERSON> driver vehicle preferred.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques and the use of diagnostic tools like ohmmeters.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while managing multiple service calls efficiently.

Pay: $27.64 - $45.00 per hour
