Light Vehicle Driver – 3 Ton Truck
Position Summary
A Light Vehicle Driver (3 Ton) is responsible for operating a 3-ton capacity truck to transport goods, materials, or equipment safely and on time. The role includes performing routine vehicle checks, assisting with loading/unloading, maintaining documentation, and following company and traffic safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Transportation

Safely operate a 3-ton truck for transporting goods or materials.

Follow designated routes and delivery schedules.

Ensure safe driving practices and compliance with traffic laws at all times.

Perform local and short-distance deliveries as required.
Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance

Conduct daily pre-trip, post-trip, and periodic inspections of the vehicle.

Check fuel, oil, water, lights, tires, brakes, and overall vehicle condition.

Report any mechanical issues immediately to the maintenance department.

Keep the vehicle clean, well-maintained, and roadworthy.
Cargo Handling

Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary.

Secure cargo properly to prevent movement or damage during transit.

Ensure goods are delivered in correct condition and quantity.

Handle materials responsibly, following safety procedures.
Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, fuel usage, and delivery reports.

Complete delivery receipts, invoices, and other transport documentation.

Obtain customer signatures and submit required documents to the office.
Compliance & Safety

Follow all company safety rules and standard operating procedures.

Wear appropriate PPE during loading/unloading activities.

Report accidents, delays, or safety hazards immediately.

Maintain valid driving license and comply with local transport regulations.
Communication

Coordinate with dispatchers, supervisors, and warehouse teams.

Inform supervisors of route changes, delays, or delivery challenges.

Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally.
Qualifications & Skills

Valid Light Vehicle or appropriate 3 Ton Truck Driving License.

1–3 years of driving experience (or as required by employer).

Good knowledge of road safety and traffic regulations.

Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks.

Good communication and time management skills.

Physically fit to assist with loading/unloading when needed.
Working Conditions
