Team Lead Barista

We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and passionate Team Lead Barista to help lead day-to-day operations at the shop. This is a key leadership position for someone who takes pride in creating a welcoming customer experience, supporting and training baristas, maintaining high standards, and helping improve overall shop operations. This role works closely with ownership and is a vital part of keeping the shop running smoothly and efficiently.

Pay:

• $15/hour including pooled tips, with current average earnings closer to $17/hour depending on tip volume.

Schedule:

• Part-time: 25–30 hours per week
• Additional shift coverage required as needed
• Opening shifts starting at 7:00 AM, with some midday and evening shifts as needed
• Weekend availability required; Team Leads rotate one weekend shift every other weekend
• Store Hours:

Monday–Friday: 7 AM–5 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 8 AM–5 PM

Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional customer service and build relationships with regulars
• Prepare espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and food items efficiently and consistently
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, stocking, and food safety standards
• Help train baristas and provide ongoing support and feedback
• Track inventory, assist with ordering, and shop for supplies when needed
• Identify ways to improve workflow, operations, and customer experience
• Work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

• Previous coffee shop/barista experience required
• Strong understanding of espresso preparation and milk steaming
• Reliable transportation and excellent punctuality
• Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and leadership skills
• Friendly, team-oriented attitude is a must
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
• Food Handler Permit required within 30 days of hire
