Duties

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
• Assist with menu planning by suggesting new ideas and refining existing recipes to enhance flavor profiles and presentation
• Handle food safely by following proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures at all times
• Support food preparation activities such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and plating to streamline kitchen operations
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold health standards and ensure a safe working environment
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation during busy service times, ensuring timely delivery of orders
• Contribute to catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food with attention to detail and quality

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
• Proven culinary experience in fine dining or restaurant settings demonstrating strong food preparation skills
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
• Skilled in knife techniques, meal preparation, and cooking methods across various cuisines
• Experience with menu planning, food service operations, and catering is a plus
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management
