Position Summary:
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items according to Tantalum’s culinary standards while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role requires strong cooking fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain quality, consistency, and timing during service periods
- Properly set up, stock, and break down assigned station daily
- Ensure all food products are handled, stored, and rotated properly
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
- Communicate effectively with chefs and kitchen team members during service
- Assist with prep work, inventory, and minimizing waste
- Support overall kitchen operations and team success
Required Experience & Skills:
- 2+ years of experience as a Line Cook or in a similar kitchen role
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in upscale or high-volume restaurants
- Experience working multiple stations including sauté, grill, fry, or pantry
- Passion for culinary excellence and continuous learning
- Culinary school training is a plus but not required
