Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and portion ingredients (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces) according to recipes and kitchen standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, storage areas, and kitchen equipment.
  • Assist in setting up workstations and stocking necessary supplies for line cooks and chefs.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Properly label and store all ingredients to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
  • Work efficiently to complete prep lists and support kitchen service during peak hours.
  • Assist with basic cooking tasks, such as blanching, roasting, or marinating, as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and collaboration.
  • Follow all restaurant policies and procedures, including proper handling of kitchen equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary school training preferred but not required.
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
