Duties
- Prepare ingredients and components for menu items according to recipes and standards
- Assist with cooking, plating, and presentation of dishes in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to ensure food safety and efficiency
- Follow all food handling procedures and safety guidelines to prevent contamination
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours by handling food prep tasks and assisting with meal assembly
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and leftovers in accordance with health regulations
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to execute menu planning and special catering requests
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant service environments
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry operations preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and a positive attitude towards serving others
