Banter Beer and Wine is hiring! Banter brings a unique food and beverage experience featuring the region's finest curated selection of craft beer and fine wine from around the world (and around the corner). We also specialize in gourmet house-made sausages and Quebec-style poutine. Banter is looking for experienced prep/line cooks. Applicants must be able to work evenings and weekends. Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Willingness to do prep, dish, and help out anywhere. We all help each other. Banter has been featured on Food Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel, USA Today, New York Times, Wall Street Journal and more! Duties:
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure that food is stored properly and at the correct temperature
- Clean and maintain work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures in the kitchen
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient food production
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a culinary role, preferably as a line cook or prep cook
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
