Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our menu items are prepared to perfection, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in menu planning, including the selection of ingredients and portion sizes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring all food handling practices are followed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other food preparation tools.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.
- Adhere to dietary department guidelines when preparing meals for specific dietary needs.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and safety regulations is essential.
- Experience as a dietary aide or in a dietary department is a plus.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques are highly valued.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork mentality are necessary for success in this role.
