Linux + VoIP Systems Administrator

- WLC is seeking 2 strong Linux + VoIP Systems Administrators to join our Infrastructure Engineering, Operations, and Planning team. This role reports to the Manager of Infrastructure.
- We are looking for experienced, independent operators who can make sound technical decisions, work safely in production, troubleshoot complex issues end to end, and improve the stability, security, and maintainability of our Linux-based voice infrastructure.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday during normal business hours aligned to U.S. Eastern Time, including seasonal shifts between EST (UTC-5) and EDT (UTC-4)
- Occasional after-hours maintenance work as needed and scheduled in advance
What you will do
- Build, operate, maintain, and improve Linux-based infrastructure supporting customer-facing services
- Administer and troubleshoot VoIP platforms and SIP signaling in production environments
- Support high-availability systems across production, lab, development, and pre-production environments
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving SIP, RTP, call routing, registrations, media flow, and related service dependencies
- Write and maintain shell scripts and tooling for automation, operational safety, and visibility
- Follow disciplined change management and production safety practices
- Help maintain secure, compliant infrastructure aligned with company standards and audit requirements
- Work effectively and independently in a remote environment while coordinating with the broader infrastructure team
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration experience in a 24x7 production environment
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with VoIP SIP and RTP technologies, signaling and call flow troubleshooting, and one or more of FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, Kamailio, OpenSIPS, SER/OpenSER
- Strong operational judgment and a demonstrated ability to make safe changes in production
- Experience with Linux system services, patching, backups, logging, monitoring, access control, and security hardening
- Strong shell scripting skills for automation and operational support
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written English and clear technical communication
- Quiet, private, and secure remote workspace
- At least 2 reliable high-quality Internet connections
- Willingness to work on WLC-provided equipment
Strongly preferred
- Experience with centralized logging, monitoring, AAA, jump hosts, and change management processes
- Experience with KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms
- Experience operating Linux workloads in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience working in regulated or audited environments such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and PCI
What success looks like in this role
- You can troubleshoot Linux and VoIP issues methodically without creating unnecessary production risk
- You escalate when appropriate, but you do not require constant direction
- You document your work, communicate clearly, and make careful changes
- You look for durable fixes, not just quick ones
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 1-180 months
Pay: Rs10,000.00 - Rs100,000.00 per week
