Liquid Manufacturing Technician

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Liquid Manufacturing Technician I is responsible for performing entry-level tasks in the preparation, cleaning, setup, and operation of manufacturing equipment used in the production of liquid pharmaceutical products. This position ensures all work is performed in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety requirements. The technician works under direct supervision to support production efficiency, documentation accuracy, and product quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Cleans, assembles, and disassembles manufacturing equipment in accordance with approved SOPs.
  • Prepares production rooms and equipment for use before and after manufacturing operations.
  • Accurately weighs and verifies raw materials as directed.
  • Assists in charging ingredients into mixing tanks and operating mixers and transfer systems.
  • Follows detailed batch records and written procedures to ensure product consistency and compliance.
  • Documents all work performed in batch records, logbooks, and other controlled forms accurately and timely.
  • Ensures all work requiring verification is checked by a second person as per cGMP standards.
  • Cleans and sanitizes the manufacturing room and equipment following each batch to prevent contamination.
  • Reports any deviations, material discrepancies, or equipment malfunctions to supervision immediately.
  • Handles raw materials and intermediates safely and maintains a clean, organized workspace.
  • Participates in on-the-job training to gain proficiency with manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Complies with all company SOPs, cGMP regulations (21 CFR Part 211), and safety requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support production and departmental goals.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES

  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Basic math and mechanical aptitude.
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, drum lifts).

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, food, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with cGMP documentation, batch record completion, and SOP adherence.
  • Demonstrates logical planning, organization, and a systematic approach to problem-solving.

Shift Schedule:

  • First Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

?Flexibility for occasional overtime, early starts, or weekend work may be required based on production needs.

  • Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
  • Operation of material handling equipment and use of ladders or platforms as needed.

  • Ambient room temperature and production lighting.
  • Frequent interaction with mixing tanks, transfer pumps, and weighing scales.
  • Required PPE includes safety-toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
