Liquor Store Associate

Looking for Liquor Store Associates part time days/eve/weekends and part time eve/weekends for several of our store locations in Minot, ND.

Position Summary
Responsible for positive and courteous customer engagement through operating the cash register and electronic scanner to itemize and total customers’ purchase, receive payment, and assist in bagging purchases. Will assist customers in recommendations for purchases and help them in finding the right product. May spend time stocking shelves and coolers and setting up displays.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

• Promote outstanding customer service with all guests and associates.
• Project a professional personal image.
• Use register to scan UPC codes, weigh and enter price lookup codes or manually enter prices.
• Accept payment for purchases by processing financial transactions including but not limited to; cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately and in accordance with company policy.
• Interact with customers, answering questions or offering assistance as needed by maintaining knowledge of products and procedures.
• Ensure accurate pricing through correcting any errors, being aware of ads and promotions, noting price discrepancies and performing price checks as necessary.
• Maintain responsibility and accountability over drawer, following appropriate procedures.
• Protect store assets by being aware of security processes, checking ID’s when appropriate, and being alert and aware of the behavior of people in the store.
• Perform front-end duties such as merchandising check-stand (newspapers, periodicals, candy, etc.)
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department; ensure the department complies with Company safety and sanitation procedures and standards.
• Education/Work RequirementsDegreesHigh School graduate (required) Job ExperienceOne (1) year experience in retail or related experience. Previous cashier or liquor store experience preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills Abilities

Proficiency in basic math skills. Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills and the ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.

Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds regularly. Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds occasionally. Repetitive hand/wrist/arm motion when scanning products. Frequent standing required. Occasional walking, crouching and kneeling. Frequent use of hands to handle products, objects, tools or controls and reaching with hands and arms. This position is subject to a typical retail store environment and due to proximity to doors is exposed to weather extremes. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
