Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, providing exceptional customer service and answering product questions with enthusiasm.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized checkout area, ensuring smooth and quick transactions.
- Stock shelves regularly by receiving deliveries, merchandising products attractively, and organizing stock for easy access.
- Conduct product demos or tastings when appropriate to enhance customer engagement and promote sales.
- Upsell related products or specials to maximize sales opportunities while respecting customer preferences.
- Follow proper cash handling procedures, including balancing registers at shift end and managing cash accurately.
- Assist in inventory counts, stock replenishment, and merchandising to keep the store inviting and well-stocked.
- Use communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide assistance on the sales floor or during stock duties.
- Uphold phone etiquette standards when handling customer inquiries or store communications professionally.
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or liquor outlets.
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings or training new staff.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer needs effectively.
- Strong communication skills essential for engaging customers confidently and maintaining a positive store atmosphere.
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques, product demos, upselling strategies, and stock management practices highly valued.
