This position will be located on the Old Charlotte Highway Campus working under the direction of the Executive Director, Adult Basic Skills in the School of College and Career Readiness. The student will assist with duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Essential Duties Summary
1. Work one-on-one or in small groups to provide reading, language, or math literacy support to students enrolled in the following programs: Literacy Services; High School Equivalency; English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL); and Compass Education.
2. Communicate regularly with program directors and/or instructors regarding student progress, engagement in tutoring activities, and/or academic needs.
3. Maintain confidentiality of all records in accordance with FERPA.
4. Exhibit personal and professional integrity in all interactions with students, faculty, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Evidence of ability to relate and communicate well with individuals from all socioeconomic
levels and ethnic groups with respect and sensitivity.
