Litigation Assistant – Employment Law (Remote)
Overview
Seeking an experienced Litigation Assistant with employment law experience to support a busy practice. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage deadlines independently, and experience handling filings in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
- E-file documents in California state and federal courts
- Maintain and track litigation calendars, deadlines, and court dates
- Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
- Organize and maintain case files and documents
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel as needed
- Assist with trial preparation (exhibits, binders, subpoenas, witness coordination)
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years litigation assistant experience
- At least 2+ years supporting employment law matters
- Strong knowledge of court rules, filing procedures, and deadlines
- Experience with e-filing platforms (e.g., ECF/PACER, TrueFiling, One Legal)
- Proficiency with modern litigation software (e.g., Clio, NetDocs, iManage, Relativity, or similar)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Work Expectations
- Full-time availability during standard business hours
- Must be responsive and able to manage tasks without constant follow-up
- Overtime may be required depending on workload
