Altizer Law, P.C., a plaintiff’s personal injury and litigation firm in Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with meaningful trial experience to join a collaborative, client‑focused team.

Position overview

The Litigation Associate will manage a personal injury litigation docket from initial suit through trial, including written discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, and jury/bench trials. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and an effective courtroom advocate who values client communication and teamwork.

Required qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Virginia (in good standing).
  • Minimum 3 years of civil trial experience, including serving as first or second chair in jury and/or bench trials.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions, motions in limine, pre‑trial motions, post‑trial motions, and other substantive legal briefs.
  • Strong deposition skills (parties, fact witnesses, and experts).

Key responsibilities

  • Handle a caseload of plaintiff personal injury matters from filing through resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, and a full range of legal briefs and motions in support of litigation and trial strategy.
  • Conduct and defend depositions; prepare clients and witnesses for testimony.
  • Develop trial themes, prepare exhibits, examine witnesses, and try cases to verdict.
  • Maintain excellent, proactive client relationships, including regular status updates and thoughtful counseling on case strategy and risk.
  • Work closely with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and staff in a team‑oriented environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
