Litigation Attorney (1099) – Bilingual Chinese (Remote)

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual (Chinese-English) Litigation Attorney to join our legal team on a remote, 1099 independent contractor basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in various areas of civil and business litigation. This role requires strong legal research and writing skills, proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw, and excellent negotiation abilities. As a remote litigation attorney, you will manage complex cases, provide legal counsel, and draft legal documents while working independently within a collaborative environment. This position is fully remote, but applicants must reside in Southern California and be available for occasional in-person court appearances.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive legal research using legal research tools such as Westlaw to support case strategies and legal opinions.
• Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, contracts, and other litigation-related paperwork with precision and clarity.
• Manage a diverse caseload across multiple practice areas
• Provide expert legal advice to clients regarding litigation strategies and case developments.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court proceedings or alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements.
• Collaborate with clients remotely to gather information, discuss case progressions, and advise on legal options.
• Stay current on relevant laws and regulations affecting various practice areas through continuous research.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
• Bilingual proficiency in Chinese and English is required for effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Extensive experience in litigation across multiple practice areas
• Strong research skills utilizing legal research platforms
• Exceptional legal writing skills with the ability to produce clear and persuasive documents.
• Proven negotiation skills capable of resolving disputes efficiently outside of court when appropriate.
• Experience with legal drafting and administrative procedures within a law office setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently remotely while managing multiple cases effectively. Pay: $80.00 - $125.00 per hour
