Litigation Attorney

Our practice focuses on defending a variety of clients to include individuals, corporations, local businesses, law enforcement, and insurance companies in a wide array of civil litigation matters including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, products liability, and others. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing cases independently, engaging in client communications, and appearing in court. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney who enjoys litigation and wants to grow with an established defense practice. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation files.
• Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw to support case strategies.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings and motions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court proceedings across various areas of tort law.
• Collaborate with legal staff to manage case files and maintain organized records.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to provide informed legal advice.
• Courtroom experience in motions and trials in both State and Federal Court.

Qualifications

• Proficient in legal research using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
• Strong writing and legal drafting skills
• Experience in a law office environment
• Knowledge of litigation in both State and Federal Court
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Familiarity with tort law in South Carolina
• Desire for and experience in jury trials in South Carolina

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
