Litigation Attorney

Arend & Sisk PA is seeking a motivated litigation associate attorney to join our busy civil litigation practice. This is an in-person position at our Fort Myers office, however our practice is throughout southwest Florida and travel to court events is required.

Experience and Skills Required

• Admitted to the Florida Bar
• Minimum of 2 years' experience practicing law in the state of Florida
• Proficient in technology including Microsoft, Zoom, Teams and online research databases
• Ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal audiences
• Ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgment in conducting legal research, interpreting and applying laws and preparing legal documents
• Strong analytic skills including proof reading, thorough editing and attention to detail
• Must be a self-starter and goal-oriented with a focus on long-term career goals

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day handling of litigation cases with excellent customer service skills as we guide clients through the case process
• Attend client meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations and negotiate settlements
• Draft/review substantive pleadings and motions
• Respond to motions and discovery
• Prepare cases and present material clearly and logically, both verbally and written
