Litigation Attorney – (Associate - Partner) – Insurance Defense

Fowler Hirtzel McNulty & Spaulding (FHMS) is a regional insurance defense boutique with offices in Philadelphia, Allentown, Harrisburg, and New Jersey. Founded in 2012, we’ve built a strong reputation for pragmatic, trial-ready defense work and long-standing client relationships. Our attorneys handle complex civil litigation across transportation, premises liability, construction defect, and general liability defense.

The Roles:

FHMS is expanding its Philadelphia office and hiring:

• Mid-level Associates (3–5 years)
• Lateral Partner (focus on premises liability, transportation, and construction defect)

We’re looking for attorneys who can confidently manage cases, take depositions, and participate in courtroom proceedings, as well as leaders who can drive trial strategy and client development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle or supervise litigation matters from intake through trial.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Conduct and defend depositions and hearings.
• Collaborate with clients and claims professionals on case strategy.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to firm growth (partner role).

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing in Pennsylvania.
• Associates: 3–5 years of civil litigation experience (insurance defense preferred).
• Partner: 10+ years of civil litigation experience with trial exposure; client base or business development experience preferred.
• Strong legal writing, communication, and courtroom skills.
• Background as a prosecutor or public defender is a plus.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
