Litigation Manager

Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig | Leesburg, VA (relocating to Ashburn/Herndon area within one year)

Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig is seeking an experienced Litigation Manager who combines strong legal knowledge with leadership ability and process improvement skills. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to maintaining professional, organized, and efficient practices. You'll play a key role in supporting our litigation department while having the flexibility to contribute across other practice areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Litigation Support
  • Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, depositions, exhibits, and motions under attorney guidance
  • Conduct legal research and summarize legal documents to support case preparation
  • Assist in preparing trial materials and provide support during trial proceedings, including document organization and logistics management
  • Communicate with clients to gather information and provide case updates
Case & Office Management
  • Organize and manage case files, deadlines, and attorney calendars
  • Manage confidential client files from opening to closing
  • Organize, enter, and cross-reference documents in case management databases
  • Coordinate internal meetings, vendor relationships, and general office operations
  • Provide executive-level support to partners and attorneys across the firm

Team Management & Development
  • Supervise and mentor litigation staff over multiple locations
  • Provide guidance on legal issues and professional development
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Create and update litigation processes, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited program
  • Minimum 5 years of paralegal litigation experience
  • Proficiency in legal research, document management, and case management software
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability in managing competing priorities
