LITIGATION PARALEGAL

We are a high-volume plaintiff personal injury law firm located in Long Island, handling cases across Nassau, Suffolk, and the five boroughs. We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and assertive Senior Litigation Paralegal to manage a substantial litigation caseload and provide direct support to attorneys and staff.

This is a full-time, in-office position with significant opportunity for growth and advancement. The selected candidate will work directly with our lead trial attorneys and senior litigation paralegal, while also providing oversight and assistance to support staff. We are looking for a self-starter who can take initiative, complete assignments on time, and contribute meaningfully to a collaborative litigation team.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitor eCourts / NYSCEF daily; schedule and confirm appearances, track court orders and compliance.
  • Draft, file, and monitor Preliminary & Compliance Conference orders in accordance with judge rules.
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions (EBTs): work with opposing counsel, clients, reporters, service, etc.
  • Manage all discovery deadlines: demands, responses, Bills of Particulars, IMEs, etc.
  • Draft and send Good Faith Letters per CPLR / judge requirements.
  • Prepare litigation packages (complaints, BPs, demands/responses) for LPO assignment.
  • Review answers & demands for cross-claims, counterclaims, and defenses; input into Clio, route for responses.
  • Handle subpoena drafting, service, tracking.
  • Assist in trial prep (CPLR 3122-a, trial binders, witness coordination, AZs)
  • Coordinate lien resolution (Medicaid, Medicare, ERISA, private).
  • Support case management, liaise with attorneys, paralegals, assistants, and external providers.
  • Assist with trial preparation.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years litigation paralegal experience, preferably plaintiff’s PI in NY.
  • Strong working knowledge of NYS Courts, CPLR, NYSCEF / eCourts.
  • Familiarity with CLIO and Time Matters a plus
  • Knowledge and willingness to learn
  • Must be a team player and have the ability to work with others.
  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong problem solving and managerial skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Experience working in Fast-paced, high volume law firm.
  • Familiarity with CPLR, legal procedures, and court system.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Trial prep / litigation experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, manage deadlines, work autonomously and collaboratively.
