Job Title: Complex Litigation Paralegal

Location: Norfolk, VA

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Complex Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team in Norfolk, VA. The successful candidate will have a strong background in complex litigation, exceptional organizational skills, and a desire to join a winning team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys in managing complex litigation cases from inception through trial.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and E-discovery documents.
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure timely documentation of case developments.
• Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and trial preparations.
• Utilize Tabs and PracticeMaster for case management and timekeeping.
• Prepare and file legal documents with state and federal courts.
• Handle billing and timekeeping in adherence to firm policies.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Assist in the preparation of trial exhibits and presentations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a focus on complex cases.
• Proficiency in Tabs, Practice Master, Pacer and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
• Familiarity with billing and timekeeping processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification from an accredited paralegal program.
• Experience in federal and state court filings.
• Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism.
