The Practice Support & eDiscovery Services department at Morrison Cohen plays an integral role in assisting the attorneys and firm clients with various legal matters, including litigation, dispute resolution, labor & employment matters, internal investigations, government, regulatory, and other civil litigation matters. In addition, its personnel provide end-to-end case management support from inception through trial and appeal.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with case management, including organizing case files, and tracking deadlines.
- Draft and format correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and other litigation documents.
- Assist with cite checking, proofreading, and verifying legal authorities in accordance with Bluebook rules.
- Coordinate service of documents, filings, and court submissions in state and federal courts working closely with the firm’s Managing Clerk’s Office.
- Support attorneys during depositions, hearings, and trial/arbitration preparation—organizing exhibits, witness materials, and trial binders.
- Perform factual research, prepare chronologies, and assist in summarizing depositions transcripts and discovery materials.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to firm and client data security policies.
- Meets the Firm's billable hours expectations and adheres to best practices for daily time entry for client billable work. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree or ABA-approved paralegal certificate required.
- Must have 2-5 years of litigation experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Experience cite-checking and verifying legal authorities in accordance with Bluebook rules, ensuring accuracy and consistency in briefs and filings.
- Proficient with working knowledge of Westlaw, Lexis, and other Internet databases.
- Proficient with working knowledge of CaseMap and TextMap.
- Proficient in the use of Relativity databases is A PLUS, including but not limited to searching, coding, and exporting documents.
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, senior paralegals and staff.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, including effective collaboration with case teams, Litigation Support team, Managing Clerk Office and service providers.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and proven organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Highly proficient in MS Office products and text editor tools, as well as spreadsheet and data manipulation.
- A proactive approach to dealing with multiple projects to very strict deadlines and prioritize work. Dealing confidently and concisely with internal stakeholders.
- Self-motivation and the proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be flexible with the ability to work overtime (evenings and weekends).

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
