Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of litigation processes, particularly, Civil litigation, Probate, and Foreclosure defense. This role is essential in supporting attorneys with case preparation, research, and documentation management, ensuring that all legal procedures are followed efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw to gather relevant case law and statutes.
- Transcribe legal documents and correspondence as required.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and easily accessible.
- Calendaring/Coordinating hearings, depositions, mediation, etc.
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and court personnel, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Track deadlines for filings and court appearances to ensure timely submissions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field; paralegal certification preferred.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw, Courtmap, Efiling portal, Dockets.
- Strong understanding of civil litigation, rules of civil proecdures is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail with strong proofreading abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with contract management processes is beneficial.
- Previous experience in a legal environment is preferred but not required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
