Litigation Partner - Senior Civil Defense Attorney

Reisz Siderman Eisenberg, APC is seeking candidates for a non-equity Partner position, depending on level of experience,at our established civil litigation defense firm in Los Angeles. This is a supervisory attorney role overseeing matters from inception to resolution, usually paired with one or more associate attorneys. The ideal applicant would have 5 or more years’ experience practicing law with demonstrated leadership or supervision experience in the context of civil litigation, strong research and writing skills, and outstanding interpersonal skills and communication ability. Experience in habitability litigation or auto personal injury litigation is preferred.

Salary Range: $190,000 – $234,000

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct initial senior-level evaluation of claim documentation upon referral and develop initial defense timeline and strategy
• Conduct defense strategy conferences with clients and insurance claims examiners
• Coordinate with clients and co-counsel during all phases of discovery; manage all facets of case from discovery through trial
• Organize and maintain case files; coordinate with secretaries and other staff
• Review and analyze discovery requests and prepare discovery responses
• Supervise document reviews with legal team, clients, and vendors
• Assist with document reviews for responsiveness, case issues, and privilege responses to discovery requests and to identify privileged documents, documents for redaction, case issues in context
• Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial
• Prepare court filings
• Keep accurate time records for fees to clients

Qualifications and skills of ideal candidate include:

• JD degree and California bar license in good standing
• 5 or more years of litigation experience
• Leadership, management, or case supervision experience
• Experience in habitability litigation or auto personal injury litigation is preferred
• Strong, concise communication and writing skills
• Experience in taking and defending depositions
• Experience in reporting to insurance carriers preferred
• Experience in preparing/drafting/arguing demurrers, motions to strike, motions for summary adjudication/judgment preferred
• Familiarity with written and oral discovery is required

Pay: $190,000.00 - $234,000.00 per year
