Location & Schedule

Full-time, hourly position
School Year: Monday–Thursday (10:00 AM–6:00 PM), Friday (9:00 AM–5:00 PM)
Summer: Monday–Friday (9:00 AM–5:00 PM)
Occasional Saturdays for community events

Position Summary

The Littleton Program Assistant supports the Site Coordinator in delivering high-quality programming and daily operations at the Littleton Center. This role includes leading after-school programming, supporting youth development, supervising summer camp staff, and assisting with community outreach and center operations.

The Program Assistant serves as a mentor to youth, fostering a safe, structured, and engaging environment while ensuring programming aligns with the Center’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

Youth Programming & Engagement
- Plan and lead after-school enrichment activities, including homework support and educational programming
- Develop age-appropriate curriculum and activities in advance
- Lead non-denominational devotional activities
- Engage youth through structured play, educational games, and outdoor activities
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured environment
- Monitor behavior and apply appropriate discipline techniques

Summer Camp Leadership (Camp J316)
- Assist in planning and implementing a 6-week themed summer camp curriculum
- Supervise and support camp counselors to ensure effective program delivery for up to 25 campers 6-7 weeks of the summer
- Ensure proper check-in/check-out procedures
- Maintain active supervision throughout all activities
- Enforce policies using positive behavior management strategies

Program Operations & Communication
- Plan, coordinate, and prepare (as necessary) daily meals and snacks
- Maintain accurate attendance and program records

- Document and report incidents, injuries, or concerns promptly
- Communicate regularly with parents via email, meetings, and verbal updates
- Coordinate and support volunteers in a team-oriented environment
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and documentation

Center & Community Support
- Assist with food pantry operations and donation distribution
- Receive, organize, and store donated items according to procedures
- Support seasonal and special programs (e.g., Christmas Outreach, Harvest of Blessings)
- Help plan and set up community events and meetings
- Assist in maintaining facility cleanliness, organization, and upkeep
- Greet visitors, answer phones, and assist clients with intake processes

Administrative & Team Support
- Assist with reports, data tracking, and documentation
- Support volunteer onboarding and engagement
- Follow all organizational policies and procedures, including financial protocols
- Communicate incidents or challenges in a timely and professional manner
- Participate in cross-training to support overall Center operations
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required
- Minimum age of 18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of experience working with children
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage youth across multiple age groups
- Ability to lead and support volunteers and staff
- Willingness to prepare and share Christian-based devotional content
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Office 365)
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening

Preferred
- Associate degree or higher in education, human services, or related field
- Experience in youth programming, camps, or curriculum development

Training Requirements

Darkness to Light: Preventing Child Sexual Abuse
CPR/First Aid Certification
Ongoing professional development opportunities

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Capability to perform physically active tasks
Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with youth for extended periods

Communication Expectations

Respond to calls and emails from leadership during work hours
Communicate professionally with staff, volunteers, donors, and clients
Communicate with the Operations Director promptly regarding absences or schedule changes

Compensation and Benefits

$14–$16 per hour, based on experience
