Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Live Broadcast News Anchor who will serve as a key on-air representative of the news organization, delivering information to the audience in a professional, engaging, and authoritative manner. This individual is responsible for presenting UNBIASED news stories, conducting interviews, and providing insightful analysis to inform the public about current events on local, national, and global scales. Primary Responsibilities:

News Delivery:

• Present news stories, breaking updates, and feature reports clearly and confidently during live broadcasts.

Research and Content Preparation:

• Conduct in-depth research and gather credible information to prepare scripts that ensure accurate and well-rounded news coverage.

Editorial Decision-Making:

• Exercise sound editorial judgment to prioritize and present news stories based on their significance and relevance to the audience.

Interviewing:

• Conduct live and pre-recorded interviews with experts, newsmakers, and guests to provide additional context and insights into stories.

Adherence to Standards:

• Uphold journalistic integrity by adhering to the organization's editorial guidelines and ensuring fair, balanced, and unbiased reporting.

Breaking News:

• Respond swiftly to deliver accurate updates during breaking news situations while maintaining composure under pressure.

Team Collaboration:

• Coordinate with producers, reporters, and other team members to ensure seamless and cohesive news broadcasts.

Story Development:

• Contribute creative ideas for engaging news stories and series to captivate the audience.

Audience Engagement:

• Interact with viewers through social media and other platforms to foster engagement and address audience questions or concerns.

Current Affairs Monitoring:

• Stay informed on local, national, and international developments to provide timely and relevant news content.

Teleprompter and Broadcast Management:

• Read fluently from teleprompters while maintaining natural eye contact with the camera during live broadcasts.

Professional Image:

• Maintain a polished and composed on-air presence, even during emotionally charged or challenging news events.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in journalism, mass communication, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a journalist, reporter, or news anchor (preferred).
• Exceptional verbal communication skills and a clear, articulate speaking voice.
• Strong on-camera presence with the ability to connect effectively with the audience.
• Comprehensive understanding of journalistic ethics, principles, and standards.
• Proficiency in conducting live interviews and moderating discussions.
• Advanced research and fact-checking capabilities to ensure the accuracy of reports.
• Ability to manage tight deadlines and adapt to fast-paced environments.
• Familiarity with current events, politics, economics, and social issues.
• Proficiency in operating teleprompters and live broadcasting equipment.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
