Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Caregiver/Med Tech to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in a home or community setting. Duties
- Provide comprehensive personal care including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Administer medications accurately following medical protocols and document all medication administration in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Monitor vital signs and observe physiological changes, reporting any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Assist with specialized medical procedures including tube feeding, catheter care, and other nursing tasks requiring physiology and anatomy knowledge.
- Maintain detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s by implementing memory care strategies and engaging them in meaningful activities.
- Use electronic medical documentation systems to record patient care activities accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care plans and ensure seamless communication across providers.
- Provide hospice or palliative care support by addressing emotional needs and assisting with comfort measures.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety procedures, and emergency response plans.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and nursing practices related to senior care, dementia, hospice, or memory care.
- Experience using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation purposes.
- Background in caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized attention is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medical procedures including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, catheter care, and tube feeding is essential.
- Previous roles involving acute or chronic care settings will enhance your ability to adapt quickly to diverse patient needs.
