Live-in Companion for autistic male adult who is an artist and has an active life

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Live-in Companion to provide support for an autistic adult male who is an accomplished artist and leads an active, vibrant lifestyle. This role offers a unique opportunity to foster independence, ensure safety, and enhance quality of life through personalized care and engaging companionship.

The ideal candidate needs to be:

• kind, patient, proactive, and enthusiastic about supporting creative pursuits and active community routines;
• curious and respectful of neurodiversity;
• a good team player, as there are teachers, mentors, clinicians, and family who are all team members;
• well organized and a good problem solver;
• experienced with neurodivergent individuals;
• a patient communicator as he is verbal but needs support;
• clean driving record, good english;
• must be legal U.S. resident.

Duties:

• Provide kind and respectful support and supervision during daily activities, ensuring safety while encouraging independence in personal care, mobility, and community engagement.
• Assist with activities of daily living , including meal preparation, medication management, organizing each day, hygiene, and tech.
• Support good health by organizing medication and ensuring medication is taken accurately and timely. Observe health and behavior changes and report any concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized living environment and perform laundry tasks. (An outside cleaning service comes every 2 weeks.)
• Serve as co-pilot in the community (driving, using public transportation /Uber, safety on city streets.)
• Accompany the individual on some community outings, appointments, or social activities to foster an active lifestyle and social integration.
• He participates in a day program 4 days a week from 10 am - 4 pm. He works with art teachers 2 - 3 times a week, and he enjoys day outings and activities with other companions most weekends.
• Provide communication support when necessary to facilitate activities and social interaction.
• Ability to live on-site 24/7 in a role that promotes independence while providing necessary oversight.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
