About the Family

Warm, busy, professional family in Mamaroneck is seeking a long-term live-in hybrid nanny/house manager to support their home and care for their two daughters, ages 8 and 4 years old.

Both girls are in school full day (the youngest currently in preschool, full day next year). Mom works full-time but handles bedtime, and Dad travels frequently for work, so most evenings are mom and the girls.

This is a balanced role for someone who enjoys both childcare and helping a home run smoothly, and for a long term position that will become more house management and housekeeping over time

The Role

This is a true hybrid position:

• Morning and afternoon focused on the children
• Midday focused on household support while the girls are in school

A cleaning service comes couple of times per week and handles deep cleaning. This role focuses on daily maintenance, organization, and supporting a busy working parent.

Childcare Responsibilities

• Morning routine: preparing breakfast, helping girls get ready for school
• School transportation (must be a confident driver)
• Picking up youngest from preschool
• After-school care: snacks, homework supervision, outings to the park, supervising playdates
• Engaging the girls in creative, age-appropriate activities
• Maintaining children’s routines and structure
• Traveling with the family domestically and internationally (this is essential)

Household / House Management Responsibilities

While the children are in school (6 hours for the youngest now, 8 hours for both next year) responsibilities include:

• Daily kitchen reset (dishes, dishwasher, counters)
• Family laundry
• Floors and other home surfaces
• Tidying and organizing common areas
• Keeping home running smoothly and proactively noticing what needs attention
• Preparing simple, healthy dinners (primarily for children)
• Household errands as needed

This is a position that will change as the family does. When both girls are out of the home for a full 8 hours each day starting in September, this will become more of a Houskeeper/Nanny role rather than a Nanny/Housekeeper role as it is now. The right person will understand that the primary responsibility of the job is to support the family.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of childcare experience
• Strong references
• Clean driving record and confident driver
• Experience managing both children and household responsibilities
• Enjoys cooking simple, wholesome meals (especially for children)
• Passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally
• Organized, proactive, calm, and dependable
