Live-Out Nanny / Family Assistant

A warm, thoughtful family is seeking a professional, calm, and proactive Nanny / Family Assistant to support their two young children and assist with the smooth day-to-day flow of the household. This is a long-term opportunity for a candidate who is deeply experienced in early childhood development and brings a steady, composed presence to the home.

Childcare will be the primary focus, with the opportunity for the role to naturally evolve into a more hybrid nanny/family assistant position as both children transition into a school schedule in the fall. The family is seeking someone who can grow with them over time and become a trusted, collaborative partner.

Both parents work from home, and the ideal candidate will be confident navigating that dynamic while maintaining clear communication and professionalism.

The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with one evening per week for a date night. Flexibility is appreciated based on the needs of the household. The position is available to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing attentive, engaging, and developmentally informed care
• Creating a calm, structured, and nurturing environment
• Supporting early childhood development, including awareness of milestones and age-appropriate activities
• Proactively researching and planning enriching activities, both locally and during travel
• Managing daily routines, school transitions, and children’s schedules
• Assisting with light household support related to the children, including organization of play spaces, children’s laundry, and maintaining order in daily-use areas
• Partnering closely with parents to ensure consistency, clear communication, and a well-run household
• Traveling with the family as needed and maintaining consistency in routines and care while away (typically the nanny is required to travel 2–4 weeks per year, with potential for more extensive travel this summer)

The ideal candidate:

• Has significant prior experience as a nanny or nanny/family assistant within private homes
• Is deeply knowledgeable about early childhood development and milestones
• Brings a calm, steady presence and is able to remain composed and solution-oriented in all situations
• Is proactive, resourceful, and takes initiative, particularly in planning activities and anticipating needs
• Has a positive, warm, and professional demeanor and is pleasant to be around
• Is an excellent communicator and values a collaborative partnership with parents
• Being a confident swimmer and driver is a plus
• Speaks fluent English
• Is flexible and open to travel
• Is seeking a long-term role with a family they can grow with and support over time

Compensation & Benefits:

• $40–$45/hour (gross), with overtime paid in accordance with applicable laws
