Hertel’s Coins, Inc. is a family-owned coin and bullion company with a strong national online presence. We host live online auctions throughout the week and have built a loyal community of collectors across the country.

We are seeking a confident, engaging individual to host livestream auctions and interact with buyers in real time. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys sales, customer interaction, public speaking, or live presentation work.

Position Overview

This is a live, on-camera sales position where you are responsible for presenting auction items, engaging with viewers, and maintaining the pace and flow of a live auction.

You will be leading a live audience in real time, often making quick decisions while interacting with hundreds of viewers. Success in this role requires confidence, strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to keep buyers engaged throughout the show.

This is not a behind-the-scenes position. Successful hosts enjoy being the center of attention, are comfortable on camera, and can confidently lead a live audience.

What You'll Do

• Host scheduled livestream auctions on camera
• Present auction items clearly and professionally
• Engage with viewers and encourage bidding activity
• Maintain the pace and momentum of each show
• Adapt in real time to audience participation and engagement levels
• Represent Hertel’s Coins professionally during every broadcast

Reliability Matters

Live auctions are scheduled events. Buyers are waiting, inventory is prepared, and the team depends on the host to be present and ready to perform.

Consistent attendance, punctuality, and professionalism are essential for success in this role.

• Live selling (eBay Live, Whatnot, TikTok Live, etc.)
• Retail sales
• Automotive sales
• Jewelry sales
• Auction environments
• Bartending or hospitality
• Public speaking
• Broadcasting or media
• Product demonstrations
• Brand ambassador roles

Schedule

• Part-time
• Typical shifts are approximately 4.5 hours long
• Shows operate 7 days per week
• Flexible availability between 9:00 AM and 11:00 PM is preferred
• If you are not available during all operating hours, we still encourage you to apply. Scheduling options may be available for the right candidate.
• All hosts must have availability for a minimum of four weekend shifts (Saturday and/or Sunday) per month

This Role May Not Be a Fit If

• You are uncomfortable being on camera
• You prefer highly structured, scripted work
• You struggle with public speaking or interacting with groups
• You have difficulty maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must be able to work on-site in Lake in the Hills, IL
• Local candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Due to the part-time nature of this role, longer commutes are typically not an ideal long-term fit.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
