Medical Assistant/LMRT or NCT Job Description

Applicants for the medical assistant position should be comfortable performing insurance verification, clerical and patient care duties. They will also need to enjoy working in a team setting and sincerely have a passion for patient care.
Job Requirements – Medical Assistant
- Displays a deep passion for patient care through the quality of work, engagement with patients, and interactions with co-workers.
- Gathers pertinent health information from patients and accurately inputs information into DocuTap.
- Verifies physician orders.
- Practices proper safety techniques while performing various patient care tasks.
- Communicates effectively with the patient and their family members the tests/procedures ordered. Establishes clear communication and addresses patient’s concerns and questions.
- Correctly inputs patient data into EMR system.
- Verifies insurance and collects payments when appropriate.
- Answers phones and performs multiple clerical duties.
- Collects patient information including but not limited to complaint and medical history.
- Performs waived lab testing as ordered.
- Obtains patient vitals and inputs collected data into EMR system.
- Displays teamwork through interactions with co-workers.
- Practice high level of patient confidentially
Job Scope:
- Position is expected to be able to follow prescribed policies and procedures, and work independently with a minimum of supervision. Expected to contribute as a member of small well-coordinated teams.
- This position regularly works directly with patients, physician staff, and other clinical staff members.
Qualifications:
- H.S. Graduate/GED or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- LMRT or NCT TMB Licensed X-ray Tech
- 2 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience in health care center helpful, but not required.
- 1-2 years of medical or business industry experience.
