H&M Trucking is looking for a Load Planner who thrives in a high-energy environment and excels at building efficient, profitable freight plans. This role is focused on planning and optimization.

What You’ll Do

As a Load Planner, you will focus on strategic planning of freight to maximize efficiency, utilization, and service.

• Build and manage daily and forward-looking load plans for OTR fleet
• Optimize routes to minimize empty miles and improve overall fleet utilization
• Analyze freight demand, capacity, and network balance to make planning decisions
• Assign freight in alignment with operational priorities and profitability goals
• Monitor load plans and proactively adjust based on volume changes or constraints
• Collaborate with Dispatch, Customer Service, and Fleet Managers to align execution with plans
• Allocate trailers and equipment based on customer needs and operational strategy
• Evaluate freight opportunities and identify ways to improve routing and performance
• Track and improve key metrics such as utilization, revenue per truck, and service levels

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or load planning
• Strong understanding of freight flow, routing, and capacity planning
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Familiarity with TMS systems (TMW experience is a plus)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to think ahead and plan proactively, not just react
