Overview
Andujo Home Loans is a top-producing mortgage team in San Diego seeking an experienced Loan Officer Assistant to support a high-volume, jumbo-focused pipeline. This is a primarily internal operations role, you will own the pre-approval and submission process from document intake through lender submission, with occasional client follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist loan officers by gathering and verifying borrower income documentation, including pay stubs, tax returns, and bank statements
- Review incoming loan applications and documentation and analyze income information to ensure accuracy and completeness and request any missing items
- Prepare and maintain loan files to pre-approval and submission readiness
- Issue pre-approval letters (PALs) within 24 hours of receiving a complete file
- Submit purchase and refinance files to wholesale lenders same day once complete
- Monitor and manage disclosure status; flag unsigned or unsent disclosures
- Run credit reports and input borrower qualification details into CRM
- Brief Loan Officer(s) on file status and qualification summary
- Conduct client follow-up calls to collect outstanding documentation
- Support VA/FHA condo approvals, proof of funds letters, and payment scenarios as needed
- Maintain daily internal status updates across all active files
Requirements
- 3+ years of mortgage income calculation experience required (underwriting, processing, or senior LOA)
- Strong working knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and jumbo loan guidelines
- Experience with Arive, Vision, and/or Follow Up Boss systems preferred
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and meet same-day SLAs
- Proven experience with making outbound calls to clients and agents for document follow up
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience in loan origination or financial services, particularly within mortgage or real estate lending environments
- Strong understanding of loan processing procedures, including familiarity with TILA disclosures and contractual documentation
- Excellent basic math skills for calculating income figures, ratios, and qualifying metrics
- Knowledge of loan officer responsibilities and experience supporting mortgage transactions is highly desirable
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy throughout the loan process

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
