Loan Originator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused Loan Originator to join our lending team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, authorizing, or recommending approval of residential real estate loans. You’ll work closely with borrowers to guide them through the mortgage process and help them secure financing that fits their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other referral sources.
• Interview applicants to assess financial information and determine appropriate loan products.
• Analyze applicants’ credit and financial data to determine risk and loan eligibility.
• Advise clients on loan options that best suit their financial situation and homeownership goals.
• Collect and verify required documentation from borrowers.
• Ensure all loans meet company guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Stay up to date on lending regulations and market trends.
• Communicate loan status updates to clients and stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Meet or exceed monthly loan production goals.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field preferred.
• Active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license (NMLS).
• Proven experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage loan products, underwriting, and applicable regulations (e.g., FHA, VA, USDA, conventional loans).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with loan origination systems (LOS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:

• Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Encompass or similar LOS software.
• Existing book of business or referral network.
